77 years ago on 27 May 1940 Dunkirk evacuation took place. After the blitzkrieg tactics from German armoured divisions put British and French forces out of balance they were unable to defend their positions and British Expeditionary Forces were called back to retreat to French port of Dunkirk, where ships will withdraw them back to England.

ACC Epsilon, the vessel we are in charge of, is a futuristic warship armed with vertical take-off and landing Manta fighters and amphibious armored Walrus vehicles, which makes the Epsilon a hybrid between aircraft carrier and amphibious assault ship. But that is not all - we also have surface-to-surface missiles, large laser cannon and defensive drones to protect the carrier from incoming missiles. We start in the archipelago of small islands while our enemy (ACC Omega, almost identical carrier) is doing the same on the other side of the map.
The aim of the game is of course to conquer all the islands or to sink the enemy carrier, both options require a lot of time and a lot of skills, because during the operation we not only have to take care of the battles itself, but also about logistics - the islands are linked in a network that provides the channels through which we can transfer the equipment and resources. It is important, because everything we have aboard the ship will with time be damaged or destroyed - we need Mantas ans Walruses to replaced those that were lost, we need ammo for them and we also need fuel for them and for the whole carrier. That puts limitations on our movements and plans.
In strategy mode game we start with all the islands neutral, in action mode game we start while some of the islands are already taken over by us or enemy. In both we need to plan our movements, invade the islands and build the network out of them or attack those which belong to enemy. In the process we can use everything we have aboard and we have complete freedom in choosing our approach to every attack.
The graphic side of Carrier Command is simple - just vectors and simplified objects - but everything else was a groundbreaking piece of software. First of all you can control any vehicle you have, you can program their autopilots, you can choose their armament and equipment before every mission, you have to plan the whole operation while taking care of the little things. Once you get a grip of the game you will notice how complicated it is and how demanding. One of the through classics that changed the game industry.
