In 1981 World War 2 British submarine suddenly surfaces in the middle of Baltic Sea. Russians suspect some sort of Cold War provocation, but it turns out that this is HMS Scoprion, a boat that went missing in 1943 and now unexpectedly reappeared. The submarine is empty - there is no crew, there are no bodies or any sign of violence aboard. British navy brings down Jack Hardy, who somehow survived the boat disappearance and spend rest of the war as German prisoner. Unfortunately he doesnít remember anything from few last days aboard HMS Scorpion. Navy needs him to find out what happened to Scorpion and... other boats that disappeared in the same area during the war. He joins the crew that is following the last known route of HMS Scorpion when strange things begin to happen.
Another British movie that mixes the paranormal elements with war stories and so far this is the only one with decent plot, although still this isnít a masterpiece. David Jason, usually linked with comedy projects, here depicts old sailor troubled by the shreds of his memory from 1943.
Interesting story set aboard World War 2 submarine that could have been very good if the movie would be shorter or the narration would be set in different way. Unfortunately the film is over 2 hours long and the flashbacks from the beginning are revealing where the whole story is heading.
