1970s war movies

In 1970s many aspects of the modern cinema have changed and the war movies were not an exception - the great film studios lost their position for independent producers. But at the same time 4 superproductions about World War 2 were filmed (like Midway, Tora! Tora! Tora!, Patton and A Bridge Too Far). Few western-like war movies based on popular fiction were also filmed (f.e. Force 10 from Navarone, Kellyís Heroes, Escape to Athena).
